If the ship is just sinking, we will continue to do what we’ve been doing in the United Methodist Church for years. We just move up to a higher level as the bottom of the vessel continues to submerge. Fire reminds us of the fierce urgency of the moment, and of the importance of working together for a common mission. Fire also reminds us that there are far graver disasters in the world at this moment than the ruin of our institution. Lindsey Bell-Kerr shares their story about how they experience God continuing to work through us on this sinking, burning ship.
